Trophy Film Title Design

When award-winning photojournalist and longtime Radley friend and collaborator, Shaul Schwarz, came to us with a plan to document big game hunting and animal conservation in Africa, we invested ourselves from the get-go. 

First, we worked with the original camera dailies and cut a trailer, which was instrumental in Schwarz securing financing and distribution for this timely documentary. We then designed and animated the main titles, which accompanied Schwarz’s thought-provoking footage to set the tone for the complex film. In addition, we created all of the infographics for the film, helping viewers understand the impact of poaching across African wildlife. Offering both a brave and honest window into such a hot-button global issue, Trophy was purchased at Sundance by CNN Films, getting both theatrical distribution and a network premiere on CNN.

We proposed multiple main title options and presented an array of styles for the film’s infographics. The main title animation features subtle and elegant touches while incorporating rotoscoping to integrate the titles into the world of the footage.

Using Schwarz’s original personal footage, we cut a “Sneak Peak” trailer that was used to onboard investors.
