“Care makes a man stronger” is one of the guiding principles of the Dove Men+Care brand. With NFL stars Carson Palmer and Jordy Nelson signed on as Dove Men+Care ambassadors, The Marketing Arm (TMA) reached out to us to produce a campaign using these top athletes to highlight Dove’s core brand message.
The campaign centered on the idea that these athletes’ favorite moments were not on the field, but actually, at home with their families. We loved the heartwarming notion that these world-class athletes got their strength through seemingly “everyday” moments and were excited to share their stories.
Our goal was to show the talent in the most authentic light, and luckily for us, Carson and Jordy were genuinely great husbands and fathers, willing to recreate their favorite moments for the cameras. You don’t often get to see a Pro Bowl quarterback happily brushing his daughter’s hair or an All-Pro wide receiver substitute teaching. Both players brought their personal A-game to bring Dove’s message to life.
The campaign was distributed digitally throughout the NFL playoffs, with ad buys on ESPN.com’s homepage and Twitter account. TMA was thrilled with our work and came back to us for the next Dove Men+Care campaign featuring NCAA Basketball.
